Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks is an accredited camp of the American Camping Association (ACA). This means that our camp maintains high standards with regards to the safety of the campers and staff. Every three years, we go through a re-certification, where standards visitors from ACA come out to the camp property during camp and spend six hours reviewing over 800 guidelines. Everything is included, such as staff and camper paperwork, staff certifications, food service, medical facilities, emergency procedures, and activities such as archery and horseback riding.

Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks is also a member camp of COCA-I (Children’s Oncology Camping Association, International), whose mission is to strengthen the international community of camps for children with cancer and their families through networking, advocacy, education and other resources. COCA-I camp members proudly served the needs of over 19,000 campers in 2013.

Of the 84 pediatric oncology members of COCA-I, Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks is one of only 30 that have been awarded the Gold Ribbon Camp designation, an honor bestowed upon camps which demonstrate a high level of commitment to serving children with cancer and their families.
